Lab Supervisor - Core Lab Evening/Night Shift
Position Summary: The supervisor will assist the Administrative Director of Laboratory Services in implementing the Center’s mission, goals and objectives; will provide assistance to promote the short and long-term vision, values and goals of the Department of Pathology. Under the administrative direction of the Laboratory Director, supervisors are responsible for the technical direct supervision of unit personnel in more than one section of the laboratory. Duties include work scheduling and staffing, maintenance, update of policies and procedures, quality assurance, continuous improvement, continuing education, proficiency testing, competency assessments, counseling, procedural validations, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, extensive knowledge of laboratory information system, other supervisory functions. May required to perform same tasks as unit personnel.
Experience: 3-5 years as a Medical Technologist, two years within the unit to supervise; has met or surpassed CLIA requirements as a supervisor.
Education: A Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology, Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology or related field.
Required License / Credentials:ASCP / ASMT, NCA/ HEW certification preferred.
Other Required Skills: Excellent customer service skills, math, verbal and written skills at college level.
Bi-Weekly Hours: 80
Work Schedule: M - F 3pm to 11pm. May have to cover night shifts (11pm to 7am) and weekend, evenings upon occasion.
