Position Summary:The Lab Supervisor will assist the Medical and Administrative Directors of Laboratory Services in implementing the department’s mission, goals and objectives in coordination with the overall hospital mission and strategic vision. Under their direction, the Lab Supervisor is responsible for the technical and administrative direct supervision of unit personnel, work schedule and staffing, maintenance and update of policies and procedures, quality assurance, continuous improvement, continuing education, proficiency testing, competency, validation and other quality activities, safety, laboratory information system, counseling, and other supervisory functions in the Microbiology Laboratory, to include Molecular & Histology. May be required to perform the same tasks as unit personnel in Microbiology and Molecular.

Experience

  • Required: 3-5 years as a medical technologist, two years within one of the units to supervise. Has met or surpassed CLIA requirements as a supervisor.

    • Education

  • Required: Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology or Microbiology

    • License and Credentials

  • Required: Certification with ASCP/NCA, AMT, or HHS

    • Skills

  • Required: Excellent customer service skills; math, verbal, and written skills at a college level

    • Bi-Weekly Hours: 80

    Work Schedule: M- F
