Description
Position Summary: Provides patient care during EPS procedures. Responsible for patient education pertinent to EP procedures. Administers moderate sedation under the direction of the EP Physician. Participates in materials management, and research. Assists with the orientation of new staff members. Cross train to EMTI Admit/Recovery area, Pacer clinic, device and ablation lab technical positions.
Experience
1 to 3 years of Cardiac or Critical Care nursing experience. Cath lab or EPS lab experience preferred.
Education
Graduate of accredited diploma, associates degree or baccalaureate degree nursing program.
Required License / Credentials
NJ State RN license, BLS-C certification; IV therapy certification; Basic EKG.certification. ACLS certification within 90 days of hire or at the first available course offering. Moderate Sedation competency per DHLC policy ACM-27 obtained within 90 days of hire.
Other Required Skills
Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to perform well in a fast-paced complex environment. Computer literacy. Familiarity with MS Office Applications.

Regular internal and/or external contacts requiring tact and discretion in obtaining and exchanging information.
Supervision Given
Supervises tasks delegated to EPS Technologists, ancillary staff and supervision of orientees and students when precepting and mentoring.
Supervision Received
Performs duties independently, following established procedures and reporting periodically to Nurse Manager.
