Description
Position Summary: Provides respiratory care services to patients with disorders of the cardiopulmonary system. Under qualified medical direction, performs diagnostic testing, therapeutics, monitoring, and rehabilitation. Participatesin the development of patient�s appropriate plans of care in conjunction with physicians and other members of the health care team. Partakes in research projects, preceptor for students and new orientees; conducts patient and family education activities.
Experience: 1-3 years critical care experience
Education: Graduate of approved Respiratory Program, Completed 62 semester hours of college credit, Bachelors Degree desirable.
Required License / Credentials: New Jersey Respiratory Care Practitioner License, Registered Respiratory Therapist credential by the National Board of Respiratory Care; BLS required, ACLS , PALS, Perinatal / Pediatric Specialty desirable.
Other Required Skills: Strong computer skills ie: Windows, Word, Meditech.
Contact With Others: Contacts with other departments, furnishing or obtaining information or reports , requiring tact and discretion in order to obtain cooperation.
Supervision Given: None
Supervision Received: Works under general supervision in performing routine assignments, referring unusual or more difficult situations to immediate supervisor.
Bi-Weekly Hours: 72 (7 pm - 7 am) every 3rd weekend
