Position Summary:      Coordinates departmental activities ie: staffing and scheduling. Responsible for the supervision and evaluation of staff. Conducts orientation and assures competency of staff through proficiency assessments. Resource person for critical care areas, new therapies and equipment, and Meditech procedures. Along with Technical Director, formulates, reviews and revises Policy and Procedures, Competency Program, and Near-Patient Care Testing Program.

Experience:  5-7 years critical care experience. 1-3 years supervisory / educational experience.

Education:  Graduate of approved Respiratory Program, Associates Degree, Bachelors Degree desirable.

Required License / Credentials: New Jersey Respiratory Care Practitioner  License, Registered Respiratory Therapist credential by the National Board of Respiratory Care, BLS, ACLS, PALS, Perinatal / Pediatric Specialty required.

Other Required Skills:  Strong computer skills ie: Windows 95/98, Word, Outlook, Meditech. Certified in Pediatric Life Support, Perinatal / Pediatric Specialty, Member Pediatric Transport Team.

Contact With Others:  Contacts with other departments, furnishing or obtaining information or reports, requiring tact and discretion in order to obtain cooperation.

Supervision Given:  Supervised and coordinates the service activities within the department. Has primary responsibility for assigning personnel and directing work flow.

Supervision Received:  Uses own initiative in handling the majority of intra-departmental matters, consulting with the department head only in instances requiring policy changes.

The minimum starting rate for this position is $41.70
