Position Summary: Provides multi- surgical service line coverage for Bariatric, Vascular and Cardiothoracic Services.
Bariatrics Surgery: Oversees all functions of bariatric patient scheduling and incoming referrals, including both first patient evaluations and re-evaluations. Coordinates insurance clearances for bariatric surgery, is responsible for scheduling of surgical clearances and mandatory required patient testing for the bariatric program. Participates in running of outside Deborah Heart and Lung Center clinic for bariatric practice as directed by Medical Director. Bills patients at outside practice for co-payments and deductibles as required. Coordinates hospital and LTAC patient transfers as required for emergent procedures and scheduled bariatric re-operations at physician�s request. Responsible for completion of disability paperwork and coordination of all patients FMLA.
Vascular Surgery- Responsible for patient follow up of no call/ no show list, maintenance of Vascular Quality Initiative registries and metrics for patient follow up for TCAR, PEVAR, Peripherals database.
Cardiothoracic Surgery - Responsible for assistance in Surgical Data Manager collection entry into Society for Thoracic Surgeons database and New Jersey State Cardiac Surgery Report Card as required for hospital ranking.
Experience - Excellent Communication skills required. 3 to 5 years clerical hospital or physician practice experience preferred. Familiarly with statistics, data base management. Must be able to handle multiple tasks, high paced environment.
Education: High School, GED or equivalent required. A.S. preferred.
License / Skills / Credentials - None.
