Position Overview:

Deborah Heart and Lung Center is seeking an experienced senior leader to serve as its next Vice President, Information Services responsible for the strategic direction, vision, and operational leadership of the hospital�s information technology (IT) department. This role ensures that IT systems and infrastructure support the hospital�s mission, enhance patient care, improve operational efficiency, and maintain regulatory compliance. Working closely with hospital leadership, clinical teams, and external partners, the incumbent will align technology initiatives with organizational goals in a cost-effective and secure manner.

This role is a unique opportunity for a strong technology leader who is passionate about leveraging IT to enhance patient care and hospital efficiency in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops and executes a comprehensive IT strategy that aligns with the hospital�s strategic plan and operational objectives.
  • Oversees the day-to-day operations of the IT department, ensuring the availability, reliability, and security of all hospital information systems.
  • Leads the optimization of the Meditech EHR software platform and other clinical and administrative technologies.
  • Establishes and maintains cybersecurity policies and best practices to protect patient and hospital data from threats and breaches.
  • Manages the IT budget, ensuring cost-effective allocation of resources while meeting organizational needs.
  • Directs IT support services, ensuring timely resolution of technical issues to minimize disruptions to patient care and hospital operations.
  • Ensures compliance with healthcare regulations and standards, including HIPAA, HITECH, and other applicable laws.
  • Fosters a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and user engagement within the IT department.
  • Collaborates with department heads to understand and address their technology needs.
  • Evaluates emerging technologies and trends to enhance hospital operations and patient care.
  • Leads and develops IT staff, providing mentorship and professional growth opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor�s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Healthcare Administration, or a related field (Master�s preferred).
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive IT leadership experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare information systems, including EHRs, revenue cycle management, and clinical applications.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity, data privacy regulations, and IT risk management.
  • Experience managing IT budgets and vendor relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with stakeholders across the hospital.
  • Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to problem-solving and operations management.
